Half-Way There
Today, March 16th, marks the day on which I will have spent more time abroad than I have left. I have been here for 74 days and will be returning to Boston in 73 days on May 28th. I can hardly believe that I have been away for almost three months - the time has literally flown by. Classes are over in two weeks, final papers are due on April 7th, and then I have all the time in the world to travel, explore, and "study" for my one final exam on May 5th. I have done so much, traveling throughout Ireland and internationally to Paris, and I still have lots to look forward to in the upcoming weeks: St. Patrick's Day in all its glory, an API trip to Dublin, a rugby tournament in Carlow, a Eurotrip with some friends, and whatever else comes my way. I am greatly enjoying meeting new people, trying new things, and seeing new places; but that's not to say that I am not missing everything familiar. I miss my family, especially my mom and Nana, as well as my friends, homemade meals, laundry dryers, and other miscellaneous American conveniences. It's just not the same without them! However, I am enjoying everyday of this opportunity that I have been lucky enough to experience because it will be over before I know it and I'll be home with this all behind me. But until then, on lonely days I have cards and packages and well wishes and Skype to remind me to continue to savor every day to the fullest - I have lots of people awaiting stories on the other side of the pond!
